09-03-2016, House of wisdom held a meeting talk show via Skype titled “The Palestinians and international legitimacy,” with both of Dr. Norman Flankstein, and Dr. Moeen Rabbani from Washington Center for Studies and Research and with the presence of Mr. Oliver Mictrnan and Isabel Scott Barrett from Forward Thinking Center.
The meeting’s agenda has focused on the history of the Palestinians deal with international legitimacy, the extent of the power of international legitimacy as a weapon with the Palestinians, and the current options and their compatibility with international legitimacy.
The meeting was opening with a proposal by Dr. Norman Flankstein for youth to make announcement in the 5th of May. This announcement expression their desire to end the occupation and the siege imposed on the Gaza Strip after a year of that date. Dr. Norman believed that the calling of this proposal is the absence of the Palestinian cause on the international community, and the lack of interaction with it by the West. It is also believed that the appearance of a US presidential candidate calls for the rights of minorities in the American community is a trump card for the Palestinian youth. During his speech, Dr. Flankstein assured that young people have the ability to end this illegal blockade on the Gaza Strip and they have nearly year and a bit to establish a strong youth movement not affiliated with any government or party to attract international support with peaceful ways.
Dr. Rabbani talked about the history of the Palestinians with international legitimacy where her mentioned that the Jews celebrate fortieth anniversary of its independence in 1988, was aimed to transforming the Palestinian cause to dust, and the consolidation of the idea of international acceptance that the issue of Palestine is the solved issue. However, the reaction of the Palestinians during the first intifada around the world turned this celebration to a nightmare. Dr. Moeen believes that at that time the challenges were facing the Palestinians is to co-opt the international community where the most were not aware of any spot located Palestine. Dr. Moeen point that both of the organize e and work would be enough to achieve the desires of young people in lifting the unjust siege and end the occupation.
