About Us

Vision

We seek to be the best at providing an accurate narrative of the Palestinian cause combined with communicating the perspective of the Palestinian leadership to the world in a professional and pragmatic manner. Additionally, we seek to build and train Palestinian capacities.

The General Objectives of  The House of Wisdom are as follows:

1. Introduce and expand understanding concerning the cause of the Palestinian people and their rights.

This includes:

  • Explaining the complexities of the Arab-Israeli conflict. Demonstrating the effects of Israeli policies on the Palestinian people.
  • Influencing the International Community’s stance on the Palestinian cause through established International Law.
  • Highlighting the danger of Israeli settlement activities in Jerusalem and the West Bank.

2. Effectively and accurately present the conflict from a Palestinian perspective.

This includes:

  • Presenting objective studies based upon established International Law, clarifying the rights of the Palestinian people.
  • Assisting and providing guidance to the Palestinian media and political establishments.
  • Providing media material to Palestinian embassies overseas in order to build their capacities.
  • Documenting the consequences and negative effects of the Israeli siege.
  • Providing robust and informed opposition to the Israeli narrative and allegations by following their output closely.

3. Work on bridging the gap between the Arab and Western worlds in order to lay the groundwork for positive dialogue.

This includes:

  • Training the youth in engagement methods in order effectively contact the West.
  • Developing balanced and informed dialogue with the West.
  • Studying the influences on Western decision makers when considering the Palestinian cause.

4. Guide and assist Palestinian policy making with the aim of practising good governance.

This includes:

  • Offering bespoke courses to the Palestinian decision makers.
  • Providing fresh perspectives and innovative recommendations to decision makers.
  • Strengthening the concept of good governance in the younger generation.
  • Highlighting actions that contradict good governance.
  • Providing targeted training to governmental departments

Mission

In the House of Wisdom we seek to evaluate and develop academic and practical programs. We provide perspectives and consultations to Palestinian decision makers in order to bridge the gap between the Palestinian and Western worlds. We strive to seek the most appropriate ways to keep engaging with the West and raise awareness of the Palestinian cause.

Policies

The Institute abides by Three Guiding Principles:

1. Total independency in its work and policies.

2. To undertake a pragmatic policy of engagment to facilitate effective communication on behalf of the Palestinians with the West.

3. To cooperate with other NGOs working within Gaza to achieve the objectives of the Institute.

  • Gathering information to be used by researchers and decision makers.
  • Using recognised methods to closely monitor regional issues that affect the Palestinian cause.
  • Producing accurate studies for decision makers in order that they may make informed choices.
  • Publishing documents to act as a resource for the relevant authority.

Training Programs

Including:

  • Encouraging Palestinian researchers to study issues concerning the Palestinian people in depth by providing scholarships and publishing their studies.
  • Organizing training courses for governmental departments and university students on a wide range of subjects.
  • Offering tailored training courses for the Institute’s researchers.
  • Providing a forum for engaged students to hold dialogue sessons.
  • Developing the role of women in society through bespoke training courses.

Workshops and Focus Groups

Including:

  • Hosting workshops to discuss pertinent issues, contributing to the decision making process.
  • Conducting focus groups to gain the in depth insight of experts.

Conferences and Seminars

Including:

  • Holding an annual conference at the Institute along with other specially convened conferences.
  • Conducting seminars to discuss topics relating to the Palestinian cause.

Social Activities

Including:

  • Contributing to the development of society and culture.
  • Encouraging and developing fields of research, publication and translation relating to the Palestinian cause.

Academic Publications

Including:

  • The Institute issues research and studies in order to inform decision-makers. This includes focusing on the methods used in solving other conflicts around the world.
  • In coordination with Palestinian and International universities, the Institute is actively seeking to developing specialised academic programs in fields relating to its work.
