PYI started “Community Leadership” Program

Amid community calls for the rehabilitation and guidance of youth elites in decision-making and the establishment of a common base for the public opinion to enable real leaders to take control in next phases, the Palestinian Youth Incubator started its rehabilitation program, entitled: “Preparing Community Leaders” on August 6th.
This program comes as one of the most important activities of the incubator as an idea to implement one of the recommendations of the second Palestinian Youth Conference, held in this year by the House of Wisdom Institute for Consultation and Conflict Resolution.
Mr. Ahmed Dalloul, incubator supervisor, pointed out that the training program aims at building young leaders who have common national concerns and are able to deal with positive differences for the sake of the Palestinian cause. He added that this program offers different political, media and legal skills that will be followed by a range of activities such as researches, awareness initiatives, seminars, conferences and others.
The training program includes a variety of different scientific contents offered by a group of community elites contributing to work with young people and qualify them well.
Dr. Ahmed Yousef, head of the House of Wisdom Institute, presented the first meeting entitled: “American foreign policy towards the Palestinian cause”. He mentioned this kind of policy and its relation with the Israeli side, and its impact on Palestine’s future during various stages of US governance since the last century until now.
Dr. Yousef narrated his experience as a former advisor to Gaza’s prime minister Ismael Haniya , providing information he had examined during that period in relation to the time he lived with his family in the United States for many years.
Mr. Mohammad Jarbou, head of the executive committee of the incubator, said that they have started this incubator seeing that it’s the right path to bring the perspective of different Palestinian youth’s parties closer, as well as creating harmony among them.
He explained that this comes through providing them with intellectual and knowledge programs to hone their skills and prepare them to be good leaders in the Palestinian community.
On the other hand, Jarbou pointed out that ten years ago, the situation of the Palestinian youth was in complete slack because of being away from decision-making. Furthermore, he mentioned that not having job opportunities kept them away from coming up with creative ideas and let them only think of immigration.
