On 31st Oct., The Palestinian Youth Incubator at House of Wisdom Institute held a training meeting entitled: “Political Analysis”, within the political empowerment program.
Dr. Ibrahim Habib, the trainer, touched on the most important things required for young people in the world of political analysis, applying those things on the reality of analysts in the Arab world, specifically Palestine.
Mr. Mohammed Yassin, The head of the Executive Board of the incubator, pointed out that this meeting was new and a distinctive addition since the trainer provided them with much information on the qualities of the political analyst, methods of analysis and methodologies of research through it. In addition, he addressed the need to balance the analysis process logically, and to differentiate between personal opinion and analysis.
The trainer conducted an analytical simulation exercise regarding the recent Palestinian election decisions, in which the trainees showed interaction and flexibility in practicing that.
In the same context, Asma Ahmed, a trainee, pointed out that the meeting added to her new political concepts that she recently identified, especially knowing the difference between the political analyst and the intelligencer. Besides, the meeting provided her with knowledge and the skill of “why and what to analyze?”. They also learned the pillars of political analysis. .
Mohammed Al-Amsi, a trainee, said: “We often hear and see some people doing the process of political analysis in different media, especially when events need to be highlighted, and this may raise many questions about what political analysis is, its tools and the most prominent principles and skills of political analysis.These are the questions I’ve been trying to answer scientifically.”
Al-Amsi explained that the meeting answered many of the questions that were previously raised in his mind, that the political analysis is not only an explanation of the situation, but is an understanding and understanding of what is happening and knowing the causes and motives of what happened and will happen in the future to reach an opinion that helps in making a decision to solve a problem or phenomenon that has a political importance in Community.
