21-4-2013, the House of Wisdom Institute in cooperation with the Palestinian Reconciliation Committee organized a seminar with the presence of Mr. Robert Turner the Head of UNRWA operations in the Gaza Strip,
the attendee were from Palestinian factions, representatives from NGOs and members of the Palestinian Reconciliation committee.
Dr. Ahmed Yousef the Head of HOW board of Trustees welcomed Mr. Turner and the guests, Dr. Yousef said that this seminar will be an open discussion on the UNRWA work and to get clarifications about the work of UNRWA.
From his side, Mr. Turner said that the UNRWA accepts criticisms if it is constructive, Mr. Turner said that the UNRWA was faced by a number of allegations that UNRWA will decrease its assistance to the Gaza Strip, which is not true, and vice versa, the UNRWA is increasing its programs to cover all the refugees. During the meeting Mr. Turner answered the questions and inquiries of the attendees which were focusing on the work of the UNRWA directed for supporting and assisting the Palestinian refugees in the Gaza Strip.
At the end of seminar, Dr. Yousef thanked Mr. Turner for attending the seminar and confirmed on the importance to clarify to the people what does the UNRWA achieve and contribute to the people.
