The H.O.W. conducted a Seminar entitled: “The US policy in the Middle East”

Wednesday 8-12-2010, the House of Wisdom Institute organized a seminar entitled “The US policy in the Middle East”; the Instructor of the seminar was the ex-ambassador Mr. Mark Hambley, who served as ambassador for the US in a number of Arab countries such as Qatar, Lebanon and other diplomatic positions for more than 30 years, the Institute invited to attend the seminar members of the Diplomacy Club and some academics.

Dr. Hani Al-Basoos who is a member of the Board of Trustees opened the seminar welcoming the guest and his coming to speak with the Palestinians in Gaza.

Ambassador hambley began to speak about the history of the US Policy in the Middle East and how it began, then he mentioned that during the 70s, the US began to get involved in the Palestinian question, in the era of Ex-President Jimmy Carter and his efforts that led to the Camp David accord between Egypt and Israel, which ended the state of enmity between them.

Also, Ambassador Hambley spoke about the new trend of Obama administration in tackling the Palestinian cause and its peace process, then he spoke about the issue of “Wiki leaks” and its effect on the US.

After that, the invitees posed some questions to the guest which were all about the US policy, and if there are possibilities for the US administration to review its policy in the Middle East.
