The Palestinian Youth Incubator held its eighth training meeting

On 24th, Sep. 2019, The Palestinian Youth Incubator held its eighth training meeting entitled “Social Media in Advocacy for Youth Issues”, with  the presence of 35 young people affiliated to the incubator.

Ms. Hadil Abu Zeid, a social media instructor and digital content writer, held The meeting.

She spoke about the importance of social media sites in our lives and their prominent role in advocating for various youth causes in particular, providing examples from  their lives through brainstorming.

She also touched on a detailed presentation of the difference between social and traditional media and their respective roles in influencing through differences, notably advocacy.

In addition, she noted the importance of the content published in these sites, as it targets a particular group and carries content that expresses the  purpose of any social activity on these sites.

She also addressed media campaigns and their significant impact on any process of supporting or thwarting an issue, noting the need for trainees to be informed on the way of searching for the source of any campaign, so as not to mix with rumors.

Ahmed Dalloul,  incubator supervisor,  said that the meeting enhanced the skills of trainees in dealing with social media and benefiting from it in supporting palestinian youth issues. He added that trainees have become familiar with how to write readable content on social media in a way that attracts the reader.

” Marwa Al-Madhoun, a trainee, said: “It was a fruitful and enjoyable meeting because of the valuable and useful information about the media, both old and modern” . She added that some important topics were addressed, including knowing the pros and cons of both traditional media and social media and their impact on people, as well as knowing the different applications on social media and how to deal with and harness them for their sake..

In the same context, Omar Abbas, a trainee, explained that the content of the lecture was  new and added new information and skills to him as a trainee..

It showed that the presentation of the scientific material was clear and understandable, as the trainer asked the trainees some questions and answered their questions.

Fida Sabra, a trainee, said the meeting was marked by the fact that the information provided  deserved to be focused on because it would have the greatest resonance in the coming years.

All this came in an atmosphere of interaction and engagment that reflected the flexibility and spirit of participatory work in the training exercises, which indicated a state of harmony among the young elites of different frameworks and factions.
