13-11-2013, the House of Wisdom Institute HOW organized a conference entitled “The Establishment of a criminal Justice strategy in Palestine”…
the conference took place in Commodore Hotel in Gaza, and the attendees of the conference were the specialists of law and justice as well as community & local leaders and interested persons in Gaza.
Dr. Ghazi Hamad, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and member of HOW board of Trustees, said in his government speech that the Palestinian government aims to adopt and apply all international standards related to Human Rights. While Dr. Husam Adwan Vice Chairman of HOW Board of Trustees said in the HOW’s speech after welcoming the attendants of the conference, said that this strategy – the Criminal Justice Strategy – was formalized as a result of the HOW cooperation with the government in order to reach the principle of good governance in Palestine. After that Eng. Jobair Dahman member of the working group of the Criminal Justice strategy presented to the attendants the draft criminal justice strategy.
The attendants of the conference participated in commenting on the draft strategy, in which HOW will take their recommendations into consideration when formalizing the final draft of the strategy.
It is expected that tomorrow the House of Wisdom will organize another conference under the same title in the southern area of the Gaza Strip in Khan younis city to present the criminal Justice strategy there, and after that it is expected also to organize the third conference in the Middle area of the Gaza Strip in 20th of November.
