Advanced training course for Professional Diplomatic Negotiator program and Specialized Diplomacy program participants on the IHL and ICC

October 22, 2014 |  House of Wisdom Institute in cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Gaza was held an advanced training course in International Humanitarian Law (IHL) and the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Mr. Yousef Al yazji – communication officer – ICRC, at the beginning of the meeting he talked about the historical development of IHL, and then moved on to talk about the difference between IHL and the International Law of Human Rights (IHRL) reviewing the most basic principles and main conventions of humanitarian law.

Counselor Larry Maybee – Legal Advisor ICRC, talked about the ICC in general and on the nature of the crimes that presented to the court in addition to the Jurisdiction and Implication. Mr. Maybee talked also about the ICC structure, mechanisms and the implications of signing the Rome Statute for Palestine.

This training course comes within the training program Professional Diplomatic Negotiator also Specialized Diplomacy that implemented by the House of Wisdom, and within the continuous cooperation with the ICRC.
