7-10-2013, the House of Wisdom Institute HOW began executing a project entitled “Reforming the Criminal Justice in Palestine”,
HOW is working on the project in cooperation with Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Interior, HOW organized working groups of legal experts as well as specialists for accomplishing the project.
During the last 7 months, HOW organized more than 24 meetings &workshops, and managed to formalize a draft of the Criminal Justice system, also, HOW organized workshops and meetings with the Political factions and legal centers in order to have the feedback and include their notices.
The project is expected to be accomplished at the end of this year, and the project will be translated into an action plan in order to be applicable, after that, it is expected to be discussed in the West Bank and to apply its outcomes too.
The working groups of the project viewed experiences of other countries such as Georgia, Mexico, and Scotland, in order to be aware of the other countries experiences and to fit the international standards of the criminal justice reform.
