18-5-2011, the Youth Advocacy team of the House of Wisdom PYAN organized a workshop entitled “the British Media Perspectives on the Nakba Day Protests”, the guests of the Workshop was the two British trainers Rori Donaghy and Catriona Pickard, who came to conduct a number of training courses.
Rori Donaghy and Catriona Pickard led a debate concerning the reporting of the Nakba day protests by the British media. A lively discussion was had, where all the participants learnt about the range of mainstream British print media and lobbying in the UK parliament. The participants talked about what the Nakba means to them personally, and their thoughts about the reporting in the British media. After taking part in a short introduction to the UK lobbying process, the participants resolved to send a group letter to Members of Parliament in the United Kingdom in the near future.
