Study day entitled, “The Changes In The Arab Region”

Gaza, 5-5-2011, The House of Wisdom Institute for Conflict Resolution and Governance organized a study day entitled “The Changes in the Arab region – The stances of the Parties”,Read Morethe study day was divided into three main sessions, the first was the impact of the changes in the Arab region and its Future, the second was the effect of the Change on the region and on the world while the third was the political speech after the revolutions and the role of Youth in the Revolutions.

During the first session, Dr. Ibrahim Abrash said that any revolution should pass into three stages, the first is to oust the regime, the second is the transitional government till reaching, the third and final stage which is the result of the revolution in having a government that expresses the will of the people. And that is what we hope to take place.

In another speech, Dr. Ghazi hamad Deputy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the peoples who revolted against the regimes were eager to have their freedom and dignity and the revolutions were not like coup d’etats. Dr. Ghazi said that the Palestinians have benefited from the revolution in helping to reach the reconciliation.

In the third session entitled “the political speech after the revolutions and the role of Youth in the Revolutions”, Dr. Ahmed Yousef said the Palestinians have to read the changes in the region which helped to push towards achieving the Palestinian reconciliation.

The Foreigner guest of the study was Mr. Oliver Mcternan from Forward Thinking Center said that the West have to change the stances and policies in the Middle East to fit the changes taking place in the region, Mr. Mcternan added that Israel must change its mentality towards the Palestinians, and what happened in the region of revolutions are related to the Palestinian Cause.
