11. Dec.2015, PAYN team held a meeting with a group of young activists in the presence of researchers from (Forward-thinking) entitled “youth and the Palestinian factions and dialectic representation and Belonging “.

The debate has addressed several issues that received a significant interaction by attendees including the diagnosis of reality of the relationship of youth with Palestinian factions, and the future vision for resolving the crisis in this relationship. During the meeting, the participants shares their opinions .Some of them see that young people have no political role contributes to decision-making due to “patriarchal culture” and ” political siege ” which followed by political decision makers so they can’t have any experience that qualifies them to higher positions.

Others see that the relationship is worsening because of the lack of correct entrenchment concept and the absence of political awareness that leads young people to involve in politics. Meanwhile, the participants suggested solutions in the form of increase the political awareness correct the concepts of belonging and activate student movement’s frameworks which constitute the youth system of pressure on political governance. However, others think that the solution is to belong to particular party and correct its paths, and to make scientific programs to give young people sufficient experience in the political sphere.

For his part, Mr. Edward felt about the current political situation, after speaking with several Palestinian and Israeli leaders, that frustration is prevalent and not a glimmer of hope on the political horizon. He added that such rare debates could play a great role in improving the political situation and changing it for the better since the successful political model in Britain had achieved after a strong and long struggle. He also stressed the need to hold such meetings regularly to reach to practical solutions and create a political atmosphere that embraces youth and their aspirations.
