12 November 2014 | Palestinian Youth advocacy Network “PYAN” and in cooperation with the media club in the Al Aqsa University revived the anniversary of the infamous Balfour Declaration.
Seminar entitled “Palestine and Britain … The past oppression and the present pain” was held on Wednesday, 12/11 / 2014 in the conference hall at Al-Aqsa University in Gaza.
A group of Academicians were participated in the seminar; Dr. Ahmed abu Al Sa’ed- the Dean of the Faculty of Media at Al-Aqsa University, Dr. Mahmoud Al Ajrami – Dean of the Faculty of Media at the University of Palestine, Dr. Mohammed Al Nahaal – Lecturer of International Law at the Faculty of Islamic Sharia at the Islamic University of Gaza. In addition to students blocks representatives and the tens of students from different specialties.
The meeting was opened by a speech delivered by the student Osama Hamdan- PYAN team member. Through his speech, Mr. Hamdan highlighted on the demands of youth that asked Britain to recognize its historic responsibility, and consequent moral, political and financial commitments, to the Palestinian people resulting from the issuance of the Balfour Declaration on 02nd November 1917 , and its main role in the applying of the provisions of this declaration that resulted in the tragedies of the Palestinian people from loss of their land and displaced their people.
At the end of seminar, petition represent the youth’s demands in regards Balfour Declaration, was signed by the students and academic staff at the campus of the university along with elite figures.
