02nd December 2014 | The House of Wisdom Institute (HOW) held an open-discussion meeting with the Gaza director of UNRWA operations Mr. Robert Turner.
The meeting was attended by a number of Palestinian intellectuals and interested people.
Dr. Ahmed Yousef – Head of HOW Board of Trustees – opened and welcomed the attendants and emphasizing on the UNRWA role to removing the suffering of the Palestinians they face on daily basis.
Mr. Turner spoke about the efforts UNRWA to contain the different aspects of suffering the Palestinians face particularly after the aggression July 2014 lasted for 51 days; Mr. Turner said that UNRWA is in direct contact and coordination with the Coalition Government, he also stressed the urgent need to begin the rebuilding of Gaza and the end of Gaza 7-year-old siege.
After that, a number of attendants posed questions related to the services provided to the people by UNRWA and especially its efforts to find places for those who lost their homes during the last aggression.
Mr. Turner – at the end of the meeting – confirmed on the importance to achieve a genuine Palestinian reconciliation, which will facilitate the rebuilding process.
