2014-6-10, the house of wisdom Institute, in cooperation with the Norwegian Embassy in Palestine, organized a celebration on the occasion of the Norwegian National Day.
A number of deputies and former officials, intellectuals and academics from the Gaza Strip to attend the celebration.
Dr. Ahmed Youssef opened the ceremony with a warm welcome to Norwegian Ambassador Hans Jakob, as well as Norwegian academic and historian Poon Christianians. Dr. Ahmed Yousuf praised the bilateral and historical relations between the Palestinian and Norwegian peoples, pointing out Norway’s role in supporting Palestine in all international forums.
Professor and presenter Pion Kristiansen made a historic presentation on the occasion of the Norwegian National Day, reviewing the most important historical stations that Norway has experienced historically and leading to independence and separation from Sweden.
For his part, Norwegian Ambassador Hans Jacob said that Norway was based on the foundations of modern democracy and respect for human rights and political pluralism, and said that Norway continues to support the establishment of a Palestinian state and independence and support the peace process, stressing that Norway is one of the biggest supporters of the Palestinian cause.
