where all the speakers of the workshop confirmed that this phenomenon is strange in the Arab and Muslim world in general and particularly in Palestine, referring it to the western countries.

In his speech, Dr. Khalid Dahlan – psychologist – clarified that those who think to suicide are suffering some disorder and psychosis, and confirmed on the importance to grow up the children correctly and normally, to keep them far from the parents’ disputes, and to give the women their rights.

MP Salem Salama – chairman of the Palestinian Muslim Scholars Association – said that those who think to suicide are traditional in their thinking, with a fancy they will become heroes like Mohammad Bo Azizi – a famous Tunisian suicide -. Dr. Salem Salama confirmed that the suicide is totally contrary to the teaching of Islam, and that the Palestinians are very well educated and able to overcome their ordeals.

Mr. Issam Younis – head of Al-Mezan Center for Human Rights – said that the society must adopt programs and finds ways to create jobs for the youths in order to keep them aware. At the end of the workshop, Mr. Mohammad Abu Sa’da – from the MECS – read the recommendation of the workshop:

1- For the Media, it must be accurate in their news about the suicide cases.

2- Spreading the awareness through seminars and breaches.

3- Growing up the children in suitable environment far from the disputes.

4- To keep distance from the rumors.
